How is ACT! different on your HPC?
You can use ACT! for Windows CE on your HPC just as you use ACT! 3.0 on your desktop. However, there are a few features that differ in ACT! for Windows CE. The following list describes these differences:
- Formatted Fields. ACT! for Windows does not automatically format your field information as you type it on your HPC. However, if you send your desktop ACT! database to your HPC, ACT! for Windows CE retains the ACT! 3.0 field formats.
- Customized number of fields. ACT! for Windows CE does not allow you to add new fields or edit field attributes on your HPC database. If you send your desktop ACT! database to your HPC, ACT! for Windows CE recognizes only the core fields, as defined in the ACT! 3.0 User's Guide.
- Activity clearing options. ACT! for Windows CE removes all cleared activities from your schedule. You cannot display cleared activities in gray or with a line through them on your schedules, as you can in ACT! 3.0.
- E-mail addresses. ACT! for Windows CE allows only one e-mail address per contact. When you send your ACT! 3.0 database to your HPC, ACT! for Windows CE inserts the primary e-mail address from ACT! 3.0 into the E-mail field.
- Address fields. ACT! for Windows CE does not use separate fields when you send your ACT! 3.0 database to your HPC. Instead, it uses the first address line for Address 1, the second address line (if any) for Address 2, and the rest for Address 3.
